Panama City A Cappella Chorus is the local chapter of Harmony, Inc., an international women’s singing organization dedicated to empowering all women through friendship, education and singing. PCAC offers opportunities for female singers of all ages. We are a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to share joy, entertainment, education and personal growth opportunities throughout NW Florida.
We participate in community events throughout the year, and offer our talents to all organizations, including civic clubs, nursing and assisted living facilities, schools, churches, as well as private and public businesses within Bay County and beyond.
We rehearse every Tuesday, 6–8:30 p.m., at Parker Global Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 908 S. Tyndall Parkway, Panama City, FL. Our rehearsals are casual and fun. There is no requirement to read music, only a love of singing. We provide all the tools needed to learn our music and even offer personal voice instruction if desired.
Our members come from all walks of life, and many have formed life-long friendships within the chorus. We all say that we come for the harmony but stay for the friendships. And we like to educate people about the health benefits of singing. Singing with a group lowers stress hormones, releases feel-good brain chemicals like endorphins and oxytocin, and builds deep social bonds. It also improves lung function, posture, and cardiovascular health through synchronized breathing with others. Singing is a stress-reliever and mood-booster! It can provide a strong sense of belonging and improve brain fitness by engaging memory, attention and language skills. And, best of all, it’s FUN!
