Veterans Honored! Turkey Bowl and Winter Fishing….

2

We may be headed into a slower fishing season, but lots is going on at Capt. Anderson’s Marina, including winter fishing! Many of our private charter boats will continue to fish throughout the winter. We have some of the best fishing captains in NW Florida-most have been in the business for several generations. Be sure to check them out.

The October 2026 PCB Fishing Rodeo, presented by Bill Cramer GM & Cramer Outdoor Marine and hosted by BCARA, the Fishing Rodeo, and Capt. Anderson’s Marina, was a tremendous success!  A special thank-you goes to BCARA and the Fishing Rodeo Board of Directors, and all the volunteers who worked hard to plan, organize, and manage this outstanding event. Their dedication, time, and effort helped make this year’s rodeo a memorable success for everyone involved. We sincerely appreciate everyone who contributed to making the 2026 PCB Fishing Rodeo a success and thank all those who helped continue this wonderful fishing tradition in Panama City Beach!

The brand-new Open Water Division had 51.3 lb. White Marlin weighed in by Bill Lloyd aboard the Nautilus.  The largest fish in the Jackpot Division was a 77.8 lb. amberjack caught by Bill Roberts aboard the Tail Hunter. In addition to the tournament catches, a combined 53 invasive lionfish were removed from artificial reefs during the tournament.  The kids’ division weighed in 629.39 LBS over 73 total weigh-ins. Each child who weighed in a fish, whether it made the board or not, received a free fishing rod & reel. Thank you, Half Hitch Tackle, for always being a great community partner!  Combined with those and the rods given away during the Kid’s Fishing Clinic presented by BCARA 180 rods were given away during the tournament sponsored by Half Hitch Tackle and Tarpon Dock Seafood.

What a great community-wide event! Thank you, Panama City Boatman’s Association, and all those who contributed to its success, including our Tourist Development Council that contributed the Fireworks to round out the event.  To finish off the fishing rodeo weekend, we hosted the Second Annual Panama City Beach Seafood Festival! There were over 60 vendors from all over the panhandle, including a kids’ zone, many local chefs showing off their talents, local artisans, live music, and just a great time. If you missed it, be sure to come next year!

But that’s not all…. November is here!  November 11, we host the Freedom Celebration honoring our Veterans and their families with a landside program and free cruise for their immediate family members.  Be sure to sign up early for this special event. Even if you are not a Veteran, come out and honor them with your presence and a handshake.  They have great stories to tell-true stories of valor!   They say big things come in small packages and that is the case with our Ship’s Store at the marina.  It’s not just for tourists, for certain, especially if you love nautical gifts.  Ms. Sherri has great variety and has great off-season prices too.

Capt. Max’s Bar & Grill is bringing back the fun way of meaning to playing with your food this holiday season. Join us Wednesday, November 27 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. for our third annual Frozen Turkey Bowl, hosted by your familiar and friendly local bartenders. Hang out afterward for Capt.
