The St. Joe Community Foundation recently awarded Panama City Symphony a grant which will fund vital orchestral equipment, including recording equipment, cello chairs, and other necessary resources. This funding will help PCS adapt to and best utilize its new venue, the Barbara W. Nelson Fine Arts Center at Bay High School. Along with record ticket sales this season – at a venue with 200 more seats than in recent years – Panama City Symphony is able to provide collaborative artistic opportunities for area musicians and guests. With the generous support of The St. Joe Community Foundation and the leadership of Music Director Sergey Bogza and the Board of Directors, Panama City Symphony is experiencing a period of exciting growth and artistic development, and is making a significant impact on the cultural landscape of the community.
“This generous support from The St. Joe Community Foundation allows us to elevate the concert experience for both our musicians and audiences,” explains Sergey. “As we continue to grow, having high-quality recording equipment and comfortable chairs ensures that we maintain the highest artistic standards. With a record-breaking season underway and our 30th anniversary on the horizon, we are more energized than ever to bring symphonic music to our community.”
Panama City Symphony is committed to presenting excellent live symphonic music, engaging and educating audiences of all ages. With an annual audience of over 8,000 people, the orchestra presents a season comprising eight symphonic concerts, 10 chamber concerts, multiple fundraising and special events, and offers six distinct music education programs serving over 3,000 students. Collaborating with international guest artists and area musicians, the orchestra enhances the cultural impact of the arts within a sustainable financial structure.
In the 2025-2026 season, PCS will celebrate its 30th anniversary, continuing to produce concerts, intimate ensemble performances, fundraising galas, events, and a variety of music education and outreach programs, all aimed at enriching the community’s cultural landscape. PCS not only provides a rich, cultural experience but also serves as a cornerstone for artistic opportunities in Northwest Florida.
