Discover the Flooring Depot PCB Design Center

By Aubrie Rounds, Marketing Coordinator, Flooring Depot of Panama City

Starting any renovation can be overwhelming, but having a strong design foundation makes all the difference. Flooring Depot PCB provides the perfect starting point with its Design Center and expert in-house specialist, Kirsten Brock. With 34 years of experience in interior design spanning residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces, Kirsten helps clients bring their visions to life with confidence.

    A Legacy in Design

A graduate of The University of Georgia with a B.S. in Interiors, Kirsten spent more than a decade as a Design Studio Manager for Atlanta’s leading home builders. Her extensive experience allows her to expertly guide homeowners through the design process.

The Role of a Design Specialist

At Flooring Depot, Kirsten serves as a Design Specialist and Sales Associate, offering professional recommendations tailored to each client’s needs. “As an interior designer, I provide professional recommendations based on client goals, preferences and budget,” she explains. Her goal is to make selections that will create the aesthetic that the client is hoping to achieve with the finished product.

The Design Process: From Vision to Reality

Kirsten stresses the importance of listening to and understanding the customer’s needs. “I usually ask for a consultation where we sit down and discuss the project in its entirety so that we can brainstorm color, texture, finishes, and find out what the customer loves and what they don’t. From there, I pull together options I think they will love and that aligns with their needs.”

    Smart Renovation Strategies

When starting a renovation, Kirsten urges homeowners to prioritize wisely. “Set realistic budgets, research contractors carefully, and consider how construction will impact daily life,” she advises. “A renovation is a long-term investment in your home, the value it adds to the home is key.”

    Finding Inspiration

For design inspiration, Kirsten recommends doing your research. “Whether it’s a magazine or a design blog, she encourages homeowners to find inspiration in personal items, whether it’s a cherished vacation souvenir or a family heirloom.”

    Creating a Personalized Space

Understanding a client’s lifestyle is key to Kirsten’s approach. “If a client has mood boards or specific elements they want to incorporate, that’s a great place to start,” she shares. She learns how families live in their homes to ensure designs reflect their needs. After selections are made, she creates a lookbook to provide a cohesive visual representation of the materials and finishes.

The Importance of Flooring in Home Design

“Flooring is the most important color in the home,” Kirsten emphasizes. It sets the foundation for all other design elements. She ensures flooring choices complement existing features while considering lifestyle factors like children and pets.

    A Comprehensive Design Approach

While Flooring Depot specializes in flooring, Kirsten’s expertise extends beyond. “If you turn a home upside down, anything that doesn’t fall out is part of the discussion,” she says. From countertops and cabinetry to trim details and furniture placement, she helps create cohesive spaces.

    Small Changes, Big Impact

Sometimes, the smallest design choices create the biggest transformations. Kirsten suggests adding wallpaper to unexpected spaces like powder rooms for a touch of whimsy. She also highlights the power of applied trim details and statement countertops, noting that quartzite is a top choice for 2025 due to its timeless appeal.

    Maximizing Small Spaces

For smaller homes, Kirsten recommends several strategies to create openness. “Layering lighting—ambient, accent, and task—makes a world of difference,” she advises. Color-drenching, where walls, trim, and ceilings are painted the same shade, creates a sense of grandeur. Vertical storage, multifunctional furniture, and reflective surfaces like mirrors further enhance a space’s depth and usability.

    Final Thoughts

Refreshing a home doesn’t always require a major overhaul. Simple changes like replacing cabinet hardware or introducing a new area rug can instantly update a home’s aesthetic.

With expert guidance from Kirsten Brock and Flooring Depot’s PCB Design Center, homeowners can confidently bring their design dreams to life.

  • Fall in Love with Your Bathroom

Fall in Love with Your Bathroom

By Aubrie Rounds, Marketing Coordinator, Flooring Depot of Panama City

February is the month of love, and there’s no better time to show your home a little extra care — starting with your bathroom. As one of the most used spaces in your home, your bathroom should be a place of comfort, relaxation, and style. At Flooring Depot of Panama City, we’re here to help you transform your bathroom into a space you truly love. Whether it’s a minor refresh or a complete makeover, here are some tips and tricks to create the bathroom of your dreams.

    1. Upgrade to Frameless Shower Doors
Flooring Depot Frameless ShowerNothing says elegance like a frameless glass shower door. This modern upgrade can instantly elevate the look of your bathroom, making it feel larger and more luxurious. Frameless shower doors eliminate the visual clutter of bulky frames, offering a clean and sleek aesthetic. They also allow more light to flow through your space, highlighting your beautiful tile work or stylish fixtures. At Flooring Depot, we offer a range of frameless shower door options to suit your unique style and needs.

    2. Choose the Right Flooring
Your bathroom floor sets the foundation for the entire space, so it’s important to choose a material that’s both functional and stylish. Consider waterproof options like luxury vinyl plank (LVP) or tile, which are durable and easy to maintain. If you’re looking for something unique, patterned tiles can add character and charm. Flooring Depot has an extensive selection of flooring options to help you find the perfect fit for your vision.

    3. Add a Touch of Nature
Bring the outdoors in with natural elements. Consider adding greenery with easy-to-care-for plants like pothos or ferns, which thrive in the humid environment of a bathroom. Natural stone accents or wood-look tiles can also add warmth and texture, creating a spa-like atmosphere.

    4. Optimize Storage with Style
A clutter-free bathroom is a relaxing bathroom. Invest in stylish storage solutions to keep your space organized. Floating shelves, built-in niches, or elegant baskets can help you store toiletries and towels while adding visual interest. For a seamless look, coordinate your storage with your bathroom’s overall color scheme.

    5. Incorporate Luxurious Details
Small details can make a big difference in how your bathroom feels. Swap out old hardware for updated finishes like brushed nickel, matte black, or polished brass. Add plush towels, a soft bathmat, or even a stylish soap dispenser to enhance the overall vibe. These little touches can make your bathroom feel like a high-end retreat.

    6. Create a Focal Point
Every well-designed bathroom has a standout feature that draws the eye. This could be a statement mirror, a bold wallpaper, or a beautiful tile backsplash. If you’re upgrading to a frameless shower door, consider pairing it with a stunning accent tile in the shower to make the space truly pop.

    7. Embrace a Cohesive Color Palette
Color plays a crucial role in setting the tone for your bathroom. Soft, neutral tones like whites, grays, and beiges create a calming atmosphere, while bold colors like navy blue or emerald green add a touch of drama. If you’re unsure where to start, Flooring Depot’s design experts can help you choose the perfect palette for your space.

    8. Don’t Forget the Walls
Your walls offer an opportunity to add personality to your bathroom. From shiplap to wallpaper, there are countless ways to make your walls stand out. Water-resistant paint or tile wainscoting can also add durability and style.

    9. Consult the Experts
Transforming your bathroom can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. At Flooring Depot of Panama City, our team of experts is here to guide you through the process. • The Top Kitchen Design Trends for 2025

The Top Kitchen Design Trends for 2025

By Aubrie Rounds, Marketing Coordinator, Flooring Depot of Panama City

As kitchens continue to evolve into multifunctional spaces, 2025 promises to be a year of bold choices, personalized touches, and eco-conscious designs. Forget the cookie-cutter look of past decades—this year’s trends prioritize individuality, warmth, and sustainability. Here’s a look at the key design trends shaping kitchens in 2025:

Modern KitchenA Bold Use of Color

Gone are the days of all-white kitchens dominating interior design. In 2025, vibrant and earthy tones take center stage. Jewel hues such as emerald green, sapphire blue, and deep ruby red are being used to add drama and sophistication to cabinetry and walls. Earthy neutrals—like terracotta, sage, and taupe—are also in high demand, offering warmth and versatility.

This shift reflects a growing desire for kitchens that feel inviting and unique, rather than sterile or overly minimalist.

Mixed Materials for Depth and Texture

Material blending is a key feature in 2025 kitchen designs. Expect to see a combination of natural woods, honed marbles, brushed metals, and textured tiles. This mix of textures creates depth and visual interest, offering a bespoke and layered aesthetic.
Tile patterns, especially handmade or textured options, are being used to add personality to walls and floors. This focus on tactile and visual richness highlights the trend toward kitchens that feel luxurious yet approachable.

    Open Shelving and Curated Displays

Open shelving remains a strong trend, but with a twist: curation. Homeowners are using shelves to display personal collections, such as hand-painted dishes, vintage glassware, or heirloom cookware. This design element transforms the kitchen into a space that reflects the individuality of its owner.

Open shelving also encourages a less cluttered approach to design. By thoughtfully displaying only a few select items, kitchens feel more spacious and personalized while remaining functional.

    Personalized Spaces

Customization is king in 2025. Kitchens are being tailored to suit the specific needs and tastes of homeowners. Custom cabinetry, unique backsplashes, and unusual hardware are some of the ways designers are achieving this level of personalization.

Personalized kitchens often incorporate innovative storage solutions, such as pull-out pantries or hidden compartments, ensuring that every square inch is both functional and stylish. These tailored designs reflect a move away from mass-produced interiors, allowing for spaces that truly feel like home.

    Multipurpose Kitchen Islands

In 2025, kitchen islands are evolving into multifunctional hubs. Beyond serving as prep stations, islands now feature built-in sinks, cooktops, and power outlets. Many are designed with storage solutions for cookbooks and gadgets or even wine fridges and breakfast bars.

This shift reflects the growing role of the kitchen as a central gathering space for families and friends. Whether used for dining, work, or entertaining, these versatile islands are both practical and stylish.

    Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Choices

Sustainability continues to influence kitchen design in meaningful ways. Reclaimed wood, recycled materials, and eco-friendly finishes are top choices for cabinetry and flooring. Designers are also opting for low-VOC paints and energy-efficient lighting to minimize environmental impact.

These choices reflect a broader trend of consumers seeking to create kitchens that are not only beautiful but also aligned with their values.

    Statement Hardware

Cabinet hardware is being reimagined as a form of art in 2025. Sculptural knobs and handles—crafted from materials like brass, ceramic, or glass—add an extra layer of detail to kitchen designs. These small yet impactful elements serve as the “jewelry” of the kitchen, elevating even the simplest cabinetry.

Designers are increasingly turning to unique sources for hardware, such as artisan makers or boutique brands, ensuring that these pieces feel one-of-a-kind.

The kitchen of 2025 is all about creating a space that reflects your personality and lifestyle. With bold colors, mixed materials, curated displays, and sustainable choices, these designs prioritize individuality and functionality. Whether you’re planning a full remodel or a simple refresh, these trends offer plenty of inspiration to make your kitchen a true reflection of your unique taste and values.

  • Flooring for the Win

    Flooring for the Win

It’s a brisk fall day. You just finished your morning coffee, the air is crisp, and the excitement of game day is in the air. As you head to your man cave, ready to settle in for an afternoon of football, you’re greeted by something that elevates the experience beyond the game itself: the custom epoxy flake flooring beneath your feet, designed to match your favorite team’s colors. It’s a reflection of your passion, a space where your loyalty is literally part of the foundation.

Epoxy Flake FloorThe seamless design, the bold colors, and the durability of the epoxy floor create a statement piece that sets the tone for your entire game-day experience. Whether you’re watching with friends or by yourself, you can feel your team spirit radiating from the floor up. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, it’s built to last, ready to withstand all the excitement, spills, and high-fives that come with cheering your team to victory.

    What Is Epoxy Flake Flooring?

Epoxy flake flooring is a highly durable, customizable flooring solution that combines an epoxy base coat with decorative vinyl flakes and a protective topcoat. These vinyl flakes, which come in a wide range of colors, add both texture and character to the floor, making it slip-resistant while creating a visually appealing design. The layers bond tightly to the concrete surface, providing a strong and long-lasting floor that resists scratches, impacts, and stains.

Why Epoxy Flake Flooring Is Perfect for Sports Fans

When it comes to creating the ultimate fan space, whether it’s a garage, basement, or entertainment area, epoxy flake flooring offers a unique way to personalize the environment and make it feel like part of the game-day experience. Here’s why:

    Team Spirit in Every Step

What better way to show off your loyalty than having your team’s colors at your feet? By customizing the epoxy flakes to match your team’s palette, you’re not just watching the game—you’re immersed in it.

Durability for Game Day and Beyond

The beauty of epoxy flake flooring isn’t just skin-deep. This flooring is incredibly durable, capable of withstanding the wear and tear of everyday use, spilled drinks, dropped snacks, and even those energetic celebrations when your team scores the winning touchdown. Its resistance to stains and easy-to-clean surface makes it practical for busy game days and high-traffic spaces.

    Non-Slip Texture for Safety

With its slip-resistant texture provided by the embedded flakes, epoxy flooring is safe, even if things get a little wild during the game. The anti-slip nature is especially useful if your man cave doubles as a garage or gym, where safety is a priority.

    Customizing Your Epoxy Flake Flooring

One of the most exciting aspects of epoxy flake flooring is the ability to fully customize the design to suit your specific tastes and, of course, your team’s colors. Here’s how you can take it to the next level:

    Pick Your Team’s Colors

The customization begins with choosing the right color scheme. Epoxy flakes come in a wide range of colors, so whether you want to represent your favorite college, NFL, NBA, or MLB team, you can find the perfect shades to match. The possibilities are endless!

    Add Your Team’s Logo

Want to go all-in on customization? You can embed your team’s logo directly into the flooring. A vinyl decal or stencil of your team’s logo can be placed on the base coat before the flakes and topcoat are applied, giving your man cave a professional and polished look. This is a great way to make the flooring the centerpiece of your fan zone, and it’s sure to impress your guests during game day gatherings.

Custom epoxy flake flooring allows you to take your game-day experience to the next level by bringing your team’s colors and spirit right into your space. Not only is it durable and easy to maintain, but it’s also a creative way to show off your loyalty in style. Whether you’re decking out a man cave, garage, or commercial venue, epoxy flake flooring offers endless customization possibilities that will make every game day feel like a special occasion. If you’re ready to turn your mancave into a fancave, stop by Flooring Depot of Panama City for your free design consultation!

  • Going Frameless

    Going Frameless

By Aubrie Rounds, Marketing Coordinator, Flooring Depot of Panama City

If you’re looking to make a big impact in your home a sleek, modern bathroom is a good investment both financially and aesthetically. Frameless glass shower doors are redefining bathroom design because they offer sleek aesthetics and practical functionality. Here are eight valuable pros of installing glass shower doors.

Flooring Depot Frameless Shower1. Modern Aesthetic
Frameless glass shower doors provide a clean, modern look. Without the bulky frames of traditional shower doors, they create a seamless, open appearance that enhances the overall look of any bathroom. Their transparency showcases tile work, fixtures, and other design elements, making the space feel larger and more luxurious—a huge benefit in smaller bathrooms.

    2. Increased Home Value
Installing frameless glass shower doors can also boost your home’s value. Bathrooms are critical areas buyers evaluate when inspecting a property, and a sleek, modern bathroom with frameless shower doors creates a strong impression. This subtle upgrade reflects contemporary design trends and can improve your home’s marketability.

    3. Customizable Design
Frameless glass shower doors offer high levels of customization. Whether you have an alcove, corner, or walk-in shower, these doors can be designed to fit your specific layout. Their flexibility allows you to choose the shape, size, and opening mechanism that suits your bathroom’s style.

At Flooring Depot of Panama City, you can select from various glass types—clear, frosted, or textured—and pick customized handles and hardware to complete your ideal look.

    4. Durability
Despite their delicate appearance, frameless glass shower doors are made from thick, tempered glass, designed for strength and durability. This type of glass is resistant to cracks and breaks, ensuring the doors withstand daily use. With minimal metal parts, there is less risk of rust and corrosion, contributing to the longevity of the door.

    5. Easy Maintenance
Frameless glass shower doors are easier to clean than their framed counterparts. Traditional framed doors often trap water, soap scum, and mold in the frame’s crevices, making them hard to clean. Frameless doors, with fewer crevices, offer a smoother surface that can be easily wiped down with a glass cleaner or squeegee.

By keeping the glass clear and free from buildup, frameless doors maintain their elegant appearance for years. This ease of maintenance is a huge bonus for homeowners looking to save time on cleaning.

    6. Improved Lighting
Frameless glass doors also improve lighting in your bathroom. The transparency of the glass allows both natural and artificial light to flow freely, creating a brighter, more open atmosphere. This feature is especially useful in bathrooms with limited natural light, as it maximizes the available light and makes the space feel larger.

    7. Enhanced Functionality
Frameless glass shower doors are functional as well as stylish. With fewer metal components, there are fewer parts to maintain or replace, reducing the likelihood of rusting or malfunctioning hardware. Additionally, frameless doors can be customized to open inward, outward, or both, based on your preference. Their user-friendly operation adds convenience, creating an uncluttered and streamlined shower experience that homeowners will appreciate.

    8. Hygiene Benefits
Frameless glass doors help maintain a cleaner, more hygienic shower space. Without a frame, there are fewer areas for mold, mildew, and bacteria to accumulate. This is especially important in a humid bathroom environment, where maintaining cleanliness is essential for both hygiene and safety.

Flooring Depot’s Frameless Glass Shower Doors
If you’re considering upgrading your bathroom, Flooring Depot of Panama City now offers frameless glass shower doors. Our expert team can guide you through the selection process, helping you find the right design to match your bathroom’s style and layout.

  • Building a Legacy: An Exclusive Interview with Barry McEntire, CEO and Founder of Flooring Depot of Panama City

Building a Legacy: An Exclusive Interview with Barry McEntire, CEO and Founder of Flooring Depot of Panama City

By Aubrie Rounds | Marketing Coordinator, Flooring Depot of Panama City

In the competitive world of flooring, standing out requires more than just offering great products—it demands vision, perseverance, and a deep understanding of customer needs. Barry McEntire, the CEO and founder of Flooring Depot of Panama City, embodies these qualities. A seasoned entrepreneur with a journey that spans from north Georgia to the Florida Panhandle, Barry has navigated both challenges and victories along the way. In this exclusive interview, Barry shares the story of how Flooring Depot came to be, the vision that drives it forward, and the core values that set it apart in a competitive market.

Flooring Depot Bedroom FloorBarry McEntire’s path to founding Flooring Depot is one of determination and adaptability. After selling his share of a successful flooring business in north Georgia—a company he had grown into a top 50 flooring retailer in the nation—Barry set his sights on a new venture in Panama City. “I found out about a flooring store for sale in Panama City and had an agreement in place to purchase it in the summer of 2018,” Barry recalls. However, when the deal fell through, he didn’t let that setback stop him. Instead, he pivoted and rented the building where Flooring Depot is currently located and started from scratch.

Barry’s motivation to start his own business was born out of a desire for greater autonomy and the belief that his ideas were limited in his earlier roles. “I started my own business in 2004 after having success on both the distribution and retail sides working for someone else,” he explains. His vision was to create a small, local retailer in Florida and enjoy semi-retirement. But fate had other plans. Just six weeks after opening Flooring Depot, Hurricane Michael struck, dramatically altering the trajectory of the business.

In the aftermath of the hurricane, Flooring Depot experienced rapid growth, expanding to more than 20 employees. Barry’s biggest concern became the possibility of layoffs once the post-storm business subsided. To prevent this, he devised a plan to diversify the company’s offerings. “We expanded from just doing residential to working on commercial projects, added a flooring supply store, and introduced cabinets, countertops, and other products and services,” Barry says. Today, Flooring Depot employs 40 diverse staff members, a testament to Barry’s strategic planning and commitment to his team.

At the heart of Flooring Depot’s success are its core values and the dedication of its team. Barry believes what sets his company apart from competitors is its large inventory, extensive showroom, and an experienced, professional staff. “We have more than $2 million in inventory and a staff that is honest, knowledgeable, and truly cares about our customers and our business,” he says.

The company’s product and service range are comprehensive, covering all types of flooring, cabinets, countertops, and light remodeling services, among others. Ensuring quality is a priority, and Barry has taken steps to maintain high standards. “We’ve hired quality control experts with years of flooring experience to oversee our jobs and ensure customer satisfaction,” he explains.

Looking to the future, Barry envisions expanding Flooring Depot’s presence in Panama City Beach and possibly opening more locations. The model of a large showroom and warehouse, which allows for direct bulk buying and offering customers the best value, is one he plans to replicate.

Despite the demands of running a successful business, Barry remains passionate about the flooring industry and the impact it has on his community. “I love what I do and the relationships I’ve built in this industry. I also take great pride in providing a quality workplace for our employees,” he shares.

Balancing work and personal life are something Barry credits to his wife, Shanna. “She keeps me grounded and ensures I maintain a work-life balance,” he says. The McEntire family homeschools their children, allowing for more family time, a priority that Barry cherishes.

When reflecting on his journey, Barry acknowledges the profound influence of his parents. “My mom taught me compassion and kindness, while my dad, who passed away in 2016, instilled in me the values of hard work, accountability, and doing things right the first time,” he says.

Barry McEntire’s story is one of perseverance, innovation, and a deep commitment to his community. Under his leadership, Flooring Depot has grown into a cornerstone of Panama City’s local economy, proving that with the right vision and values, anything is possible.

  • Renovating a Small Kitchen for More Space and Functionality

Renovating a Small Kitchen for More Space and Functionality

By Aubrie Rounds, Marketing Coordinator, Flooring Depot of Panama City

It has been said that good things come in small packages. This is even more true if you have a small living or kitchen space. Keeping it functional and maximizing space, but trendy and stylish can be a challenge, but it can be done very well. With the right planning and thoughtful design, even the smallest kitchens can be optimized.
We spoke with our resident expert, Jason Havens, who has numerous years of building experience and is currently serving as the lead in the kitchen and bathroom design department, about how to create a small, cohesive, and highly functional space. Here are some of his most useful tips.

    Flooring Depot Small Kitchen Before
    Before

    1. Install Custom Cabinetry

Custom cabinetry is an excellent way to utilize every inch of available space. Unlike standard cabinets, custom options can be tailored to fit unusual spaces and maximize storage. Consider installing cabinets that extend to the ceiling, providing storage for less frequently used items at the top. Include features like pull-out shelves, corner carousels, and deep drawers to enhance functionality.

“Custom cabinetry allows you to make the most of every nook and cranny,” says Havens. “It’s especially useful in small kitchens where standard sizes just don’t fit well.”

    2. Add a Kitchen Island

If space permits, a kitchen island can be a versatile addition. Even a small, narrow island can provide extra counter space and storage. Look for islands with built-in storage, such as shelves or drawers, to further enhance their utility.

“A kitchen island can be a game-changer, adding both workspace and storage. Consider a portable or rolling island that can be moved when not in use,” Havens advises.

    Flooring Depot Small Kitchen After
    After

    3. Optimize Corner Space

Corners are often underutilized in small kitchens. Install corner cabinets with pull-out shelves or a Lazy Susan to make the most of these areas. Another option is corner drawers that extend diagonally, providing accessible storage. Utilizing corner space effectively can significantly increase your kitchen’s storage capacity.

“Don’t let corners go to waste,” says Havens. “There are innovative solutions like corner pull-outs that can maximize these awkward spaces.”

    4. Use Reflective Surfaces

“Reflective surfaces can do wonders in making a small kitchen feel more expansive,” says Havens. Reflective surfaces can create an illusion of more space. So, consider glossy or glass tile backsplashes, stainless steel appliances, and high-gloss cabinet finishes when thinking about your design.

    5. Implement Open Shelving

Replacing upper cabinets with open shelving can make a kitchen feel more open and spacious. Use open shelves to store everyday items that you want to keep within easy reach. This also allows you to showcase attractive dishware and adds a decorative element to your kitchen.

“Open shelving is great for both storage and display. Be mindful not to overcrowd the shelves though so that you maintain an uncluttered look,” Havens advises.

    6. Create a Functional Layout

“A well-planned layout is crucial in a small kitchen,” advises Havens. “Consider the classic kitchen work triangle (sink, stove, and refrigerator) to ensure efficient movement. Galley kitchens, with cabinets and appliances on opposite walls, can be highly efficient.” If possible, removing a wall to create an open-plan layout can significantly enhance the sense of space.

Renovating a small kitchen requires a blend of creativity and practicality. Thoughtful design choices and innovative solutions can transform your small kitchen into a spacious, efficient, and stylish heart of your home.

    Design and Culture: Project Spotlight

Dale, a project manager here at Granite Plus, and I received such a treat last month, walking a client’s newly finished home. It’s rare that we get to see projects after everything is completed and our tour was lovely. We also learned about a local resource that some of you may not be acquainted with.

Granite Plus Tour Home 4This charming coastal modern home with Mediterranean accents was built on a lot that originally had a cottage from the 1940s. The homeowner was able to salvage and refurbish some of the wood from that cottage and use it as a ceiling in the new home. The rift-sawn white oak stair treads were sourced locally from the Freeport Sawmill, along with a virgin sinker cypress (also known as deadhead cypress) fireplace mantel that is over 300 years old, and very cool. As you walk up the steps, the wall lighting is reminiscent of a ship and provides a lovely coastal accent. The homeowner selected Silestone Et Dor quartz countertops and natural walnut face grain wood countertops for her kitchen, an elegant combination for the space. With the beautiful Mediterranean-inspired tiles throughout the baths, a pure white quartz countertop was selected.

Granite Plus Tour Home 3If you are not familiar with the Freeport Sawmill, it is locally owned and operated, and the family has been around the Gulf Coast since 1842. They opened the sawmill about four years ago and offer a wide range of services and components, including but not limited to beams, live edge slabs, shiplap, and stair treads. They have a unique offering of wood species such as Deadhead Cypress, White Oak, Sinker Pine, Heart Pine, Old Growth Cypress, and Black Walnut along with some more common hardwoods such as Cherry, Hickory, and Red Oak. If you are in the market for something unique and old wood charm for your home, this is a great local resource. Kevin Casey, the owner of Freeport Sawmill, is kind, genuine, and very knowledgeable when it comes to wood species, old and new. The Freeport Sawmill is located at 152 Pate Branch Rd. Freeport, FL 32439 and they are open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. You can contact them via email at freeportsawmill@gmail.com or give them a call at (850) 598-7786.

If you would like to find out more information about quartz or wood countertops, you can stop by the Granite Plus showroom at 17801 Ashley Dr. or give us a call at (850) 236-6363 and a project manager will be happy to assist you.
