Sol Shine: Rodeo Drive Comes to PCB

Your first question should be, “What’s a man doing writing an article on women’s fashion?” Unfortunately, I learned the hard way from my starter wife, who happened to be a trust fund baby.

At the time we lived in Southwest Virginia, where Rusty and Nancy Lester had opened a high, high-end women’s boutique. When you entered the store, you were greeted with a flute of Dom Perrion and the sound of a baby grand in the lobby. Their invoices were mailed in a pink envelope. After opening, I called my wife and said, “please take me to your closet as I would like to see what a $600 blouse looks like.” As it happens, it had no sleeves. Welcome to the world of women’s high fashion, which also changes faster than a cat with its tail on fire.

Enter Jolinda Bizzell, who had a better idea, to offer international fashion at everyday prices. Her mission is to travel to the far ends of the world stalking the elusive character, “high fashion, at low prices.” After sending my current wife to Jolinda’s store, Sol Shine, I was told in no uncertain terms she had indeed accomplished her mission. Below are some examples of a successful hunt. For more examples, visit them on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/solshinecoastal.
