BEACHY BEACH REALTOR BRITT MATTHEWS IS FSU PANAMA CITY’S MARCH ENTREPRENEURSHIP LUNCH & LEARN GUEST

Matthews will discuss finding her way into business, creative ventures

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — The third session of Florida State University Panama City’s Entrepreneurship Lunch & Learn for the spring semester will be on Thursday, March 12, with instructor Brian Baber welcoming local real estate broker and poet Britt Matthews.

Each Lunch & Learn session is from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Holley Academic Center’s St. Joe Community Foundation Lecture Hall, 4750 Collegiate Drive, Panama City. There is no cost for admission, and a light lunch is provided. The public is invited.

Brittany “Britt” Matthews was born into the life of a real estate agent with both of her parents in the career, and in 2012 she joined Beachy Beach Real Estate to help her family. “I was helping in the capacity of public relations and marketing and as agent as we expanded locations. That’s where they needed me,” Matthews said. The company quickly grew from 12 agents to more than 100, including a full marketing team, and Matthews shifted from marketing and sales agent to sales broker in 2018.

She expanded her reach in 2022 to co-owner of a long-term rental company, Full Heart Rentals. While juggling these two roles, as well as the roles of wife and mother, Matthews found time to also find her voice as an author, singer and songwriter.

“I didn’t find my voice until my forties,” Matthews said in a post to her website, BrittMathews.com. “Before that, I was caught in a cycle of people-pleasing—shifting myself to fit whatever role I was in: good daughter, wife, mother, fixer. … And somewhere in that mess, I rediscovered poetry—and my own voice.”

Matthews defines herself by three terms, calling herself a Late Bloomer, Overcomer and an Advocate. She describes herself as someone who is driven by one passion through her life: helping people find where they belong.

Baber, MBA, is the Entrepreneur in Residence at FSU PC’s Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship, specializing in real estate and construction. He leads each Lunch & Learn session in a relaxed conversational style. View recordings of the sessions on FSU Panama City’s YouTube channel, YouTube.com/c/FloridaStateUniversityPanamaCity.

The discussions are also available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify as part of Baber’s “FSU Panama City Entrepreneurship Lunch and Learn Podcast.” For more details, email bbaber@pc.fsu.edu.
