Introducing: Point Break Arcade

116

Point Break Arcade is an Arcade and Bar with over 7000 sq ft of ‘80s-’00s Arcade games (including Ms. Pacman, Galaga, Streetfighter, Dance Dance Revolution), Pinball Machines (one of the largest collections in North Florida), and Retro Consoles. All the games are set to free play, not tokens or scan cards. A single-price admission grants a wristband for access to all the games all day. Since PBA is in the center of Downtown Panama City, it is a fantastic way to break up the boutique shopping and brewery hopping that the area has to offer within walking distance.

Point Break ArcadeThe Co-Owners: Ben and Nick served together in 7th Special Forces Group stationed at Eglin Airforce Base. After leaving their respective times on active duty, both families coincidentally found homes in Panama City. Ben and Nick wanted more for their families to do in the area. The growth they’ve seen since 2020 inspired them to do something for the families of the community as well. Since opening PBA, the most rewarding experience for them has been seeing older generations teaching their children and grandchildren how to play these classic games. Their goal is not only to give a wonderful space for the community to enjoy but to give back to both the local community and the veteran community. Their collaboration with Hope Project has been a dream come true for them.

Their indispensable team of employees is created from passionate and enthusiastic locals who enjoy teaching customers how to play some of the more obscure games, discussing our many craft brew options, and dabbling in some arcade and gaming history themselves!

Most common phrases heard in PBA: “I remember this game!”, “I can’t believe they also have THIS game!”, “OK, let me teach you the strategy for this game,” “I SET A HIGH SCORE!”, “Let’s play again!”

PBA also hosts themed parties, tournaments for various games, private events, and new game release parties!
