Christmas has come to Downtown Panama City! While Four Points Plaza will be teeming with festive lights for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, The Center for the Arts will be filled with local artisan vendors for the seventh annual Holiday Bazaar presented by Bay Arts Alliance. The public is invited to shop small and enjoy the holiday festivities starting on Friday, December 6 from 5-8 p.m. as part of the Downtown Christmas Celebration.
Bay Arts Alliance will host its seventh annual Holiday Bazaar over two days: December 6 from 5-8 p.m. and December 7 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Shoppers can browse the galleries of the Center for the Arts with table after table of unique, handcrafted goods from dozens of local artists and artisans.
“The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and our Holiday Bazaar have always been a great opportunity for our community to come together, not only to enjoy the holiday festivities but also to support our local artists and businesses,” said Jayson Kretzer, Executive Director of Bay Arts Alliance. “This year I’m also beyond excited to see the new downtown Christmas Light show.”
This Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 5:30pm on Friday evening, featuring performances by the Bay High School Choir, and Downtown’s first Christmas Light Show choreographed by David Price. This event would not be possible without the support of Destination Panama City and the City of Panama City.
The Center for the Arts will also have two new exhibits on display in time for the festivities: The Enchanted Forest by local ceramicist Mary Kay Griffith, and Physis, a duo show featuring Fahmida Akter and Andrew Golob. Visitors can enjoy these exhibits from December 6, 2024 through January 15, 2025.
The Center for the Arts is open Tuesday–Saturday 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Fridays 10 a.m.-7 p.m. The Center for the Arts will be closed for the holidays from December 24 through January 1, and will reopen on January 2, 2025.
