September is here and it’s last call for Red Snapper for 2025! This favorite of all locally caught fish will end its season at midnight, September 14. But that’s not all…! The Amberjack and Gag Grouper seasons will be open September 1 through 14–the only openings in 2025 for these well-loved species. To put some icing on top of these special 2 weeks of fishing, Triggerfish will remain open through September 14!
If you haven’t made reservations on your favorite head-boat or charter boat, now is the time, before they are all booked up. For those fishing from Capt. Anderson’s Marina, you can find their contact information at www.CaptAndersonsMarina.com. Treasure Island and Lighthouse and Pirates Cove Marinas also have boats available for charters. RESERVE TODAY and don’t miss this special opportunity!
By popular request, there will be a special 18-hour fishing trip aboard the Capt. Anderson departing midnight September 13 and returning at 6 p.m. on September 14. If you miss the trip, be sure to come down and see the catch!
Speaking of seeing the catch, while you’re not fishing, you can watch the boats coming and going from The Upper Deck Bar at Capt. Max’s Bar & Grill. They will have all your favorite football teams playing, whether college or NFL teams, every day and night during the football season. Check out all their upcoming entertainment and specials at https://www.facebook.com/CaptMaxsBarGrill/ .
Looking forward to October, Capt. Anderson’s Marina will host the PCB Fishing Rodeo with a Kids fishing event, and, simultaneously, the PCB Seafood Festival with about 100 vendors, including some great seafood, live music, and great family fun. Check out their websites at https://pcbfishingrodeo.com/ and https://pcbseafoodfestival.org/.
Shell Island & Sunset Dolphin Cruises on the Capt. Anderson III continue into the fall each afternoon and evening through October. Now that it is getting a little cooler, the beautiful uninhabited Shell Island beach is calling for you! Not only do we see dolphins playing, but this season we have seen as many as 8 manatees in one pod just cruising through The Pass-nice and slow. Always something new!
