Redesign a Book Cover Art Exhibit (Ages 3 – 17)

Book lovers ages 3 – 17 redesigned the book cover of one of their favorite books! The art is displayed in the Youth Services hallway gallery space through the end of July.

Tatyana Moorman:

Tatyana’s works are original, powerful, suggestive, and offer a syncretic beauty of their own. Born in Russia with family ties to Saint Petersburg, Tatyana was exposed from a young age to architecture, painting, and fashion. She took art classes and did modeling. She was for many years a women’s clothes designer, both in Europe and in the United States. Acrylic on canvas and boards are her preferred media. Her quest for beauty, combined with the rigor of her technical education, drive her to styles as elusive as original.

The Experimental Artists Book Arts Guild (TeaBAG):

The Experimental Artist Book Arts Guild (TeaBAG) began in the Fall of 2010. The group meets monthly, with the occasional break, at the Panama City Publishing Company Museum in St.  Andrews, located at 1134 Beck Avenue. An introductory bookbinding class at Gulf Coast  Education Encore, taught by Marie Brusher, resulted in all the students clamoring for more bookbinding and book arts-related projects. Celeste Hansel, one of Marie’s students, was a volunteer at the Panama City Publishing Company Museum and was able to procure permission to meet monthly at the museum. Students came to book arts from a variety of skills and backgrounds, such as scrapbooking, journaling, painting, fiber arts, etc. Each month features show and tell of completed books and projects, followed by a new project with one of the members leading the group in their specialty. Membership is free to all interested adults. Many of the books on exhibit are from past programs, most recently one and two signature binding and Japanese stab binding.
