Bay Arts Alliance is bringing back #ArtCityPC: Local Artist Expo, and the eighth annual Holiday Bazaar featuring art from local artisan vendors—just in time for the holidays.

#ArtCityPC will open on Friday, November 21, from 5–7 p.m. The exhibition will then run through Saturday, December 20. The Holiday Bazaar is a two-day event: December 5, 5–8 p.m., and December 6, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

Paintings, drawings, and photography will fill the Center for the Arts galleries over the holidays during #ArtCityPC. Visitors can buy art directly off the wall and take it home that day, which is different from most exhibitions at the Center, with art that has to stay on the wall through the end of the exhibition. Once a piece of art is sold, artists can immediately replace it with a new piece, so the exhibition will constantly change.

Bay Arts Alliance 2018 Artcitypc Main Gallery

Bay Arts Alliance first created this exhibition after Hurricane Michael, when they realized that Panama City Center for the Arts was the only gallery able to open quickly after the storm. They wanted to help local artists show and sell their work despite the destruction.

“Our mission has always been to champion our local artists. ArtCityPC gives our artists a platform to shine and feel supported during the holiday season.”

Bay Arts Alliance will also be hosting its eighth annual Holiday Bazaar over two days: December 5 from 5-8 p.m., coinciding with the Downtown Christmas Celebration that evening, and December 6 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Shoppers can browse the galleries with table after table of unique, handcrafted goods from dozens of local artists and artisans.

The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening, featuring performances by the Bay High School Choir and Downtown’s Christmas Light Show programmed by David Price. This event would not be possible without the support of Destination Panama City and the City of Panama City.

“We love our local artists and entrepreneurs, so to be able to showcase their work with these two events is exciting!” said Natalie Earnest, Programming Manager for Bay Arts Alliance. “The best part of any event like #ArtCityPC and our Holiday Bazaar is when visitors discover how many talented people we have in Panama City and find that perfect handmade, unique gift.”
