Bayway is bringing back an annual initiative to make tax season easier for  Bay County residents. From March 19 to April 9, Bayway will provide free rides every  Wednesday between 9 am – 2 pm to the A.D. Harris Learning Village where residents can access tax filing support through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program with  United Way Northwest Florida.

“We understand tax season can be stressful and want to ensure residents with limited transportation options can still access the assistance they need,” said Lamar Hobbs, Transit  Programs Administrator of Bayway. “By offering free rides every Wednesday, our goal is to  remove barriers and make tax services more accessible to everyone in the community.”

Residents interested in using this free service can visit www.baywaytransit.org to view route schedules and map their ride using the detailed trip planner feature.

The VITA program provides free tax preparation assistance to individuals and families earning  $70,000 or less annually. Residents seeking assistance should bring all relevant tax documents,  a valid ID, a Social Security card, and any documentation needed for dependents. The A.D. Harris  Learning Village is located at 819 E 11th Street in Panama City, Florida.

Bayway is committed to strengthening the local community and connecting residents to vital resources. By offering these free rides, Bayway hopes to make a meaningful impact during tax season, ensuring that all Bay County residents have the opportunity to file their taxes with ease.
