“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you”
(1 Peter 5:7)
There is a beautiful hymn named, Does Jesus Care?” The first verse raises this immortal question. “Does Jesus care when my heart is pained, too deeply for mirth and song? And then comes the wonderful refrain: O yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I KNOW MY SAVIOR CARES.
How interesting is the use of the word, “casting.” The Greek word means “throwing off.” It describes a person who cannot handle the weight or size of the load, so they toss it aside into the arms of One who can. Have you ever suffered from such pain and agony from a personal problem that you just couldn’t bear it? Of course you have. So what do you do? Most will agonize with tears and fear of being unable to cope with it. Life becomes a terrible misery of hopelessness. It doesn’t have to be that way. If you are a Child of God, you have a Father who is all powerful. His Son, your Savior, gladly accepts your pain and does so for one reason: “He cares for you.”
The Bible affirms: “For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ” (Galatians 3:26-27)
Accept Christ into your life by acknowledging your faith in Him. Turn from sin in your life through repentance, and be baptized to wash away your sin. Your load will be lifted, and you will live in the peace of knowing that He cares for you.
