Red Snapper Fishing Continues…

Opportunities to catch Red Snapper will continue throughout the fall.  The For-hire, Charter boat and Head Boat season will continue through October 31!

Reef Asoc

The Private recreational anglers’ Red Snapper season, with their own boats or fishing from piers, jetties, or shore, will end July 31 temporarily, then reopen September 1 through October 4 plus 3-day weekends for the rest of the year. For more information on Red Snapper and other species, download the app, Fish Rules. I don’t think there is a fish in the sea that isn’t mentioned there!

As you can see from the pictures, the 8-hour night trip on Capt. Anderson V has had some really good trips.  The timing is great.  On a 4 p.m. to midnight trip, it is cooler, you get to see the sunset over the Gulf of America, and you have some great family fishing experiences. Just like any fishing trip, whether private or charter or head boat, catching fish can’t be guaranteed because they just might not be hungry, but you can bet that the captains in our area will do their utmost to put you on fishing spots that will provide opportunities aplenty to catch them.

Our BCARA friends have been busy planning to deploy a great number of artificial reefs this fall and winter. They are working on a tugboat and several more items that will enable them to deploy many reefs if all goes as planned. Check out their updates at https://bcara.us/ and on Facebook!

Be sure to thank them for all their efforts to enhance the fishing habitat off of Bay County when you have a chance.  They are spending a lot of personal time on these projects that make our fisheries better for all anglers.

Capt. Max’s Bar & Grill will be humming with all the popular football games on their TV screens starting in August…America’s favorite pastime-except for fishing, of course!

Christmas in August?  Not Christmas, but for planning your Christmas party, it’s definitely not too early to reserve The Event Center at Capt. Anderson’s Marina.  It’s beautiful and the waterfront view overlooking Grand Lagoon cannot be beat!
