The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is working with Beach Care Services of Panama City Beach to help bolster emergency housing assistance to individuals and families in need.

The grant from the Church of Jesus Christ will be directed specifically toward supplemental assistance for single mothers who are struggling to meet the needs of their children. Through this support, Beach Care Services will be better equipped to provide critical assistance and a variety of essentials for single mothers living and/or working on Panama City Beach.

“It is with consistent love and service to our fellow man that we draw closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are so pleased that Beach Care Services can help so many in this community through the grant,” said Darren Bevans, leader for the Church in the Panama City area.

“This grant so graciously given to us by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will make a huge impact for many single mothers in our community.  Beach Care Services has seen a significant rise in need for single mothers in our area of the past year and we look forward to helping these women and their children get back on their feet and thriving in our community,” said Lindsey Pickenpaugh, board member of Beach Care Services.

Beach Care Services supports approximately 800 individuals a year with help including rental, medical, and/or utility assistance each year. Their board estimates the grant will serve about 300 individuals.

“We invite individuals and organizations to contribute time or resources to Beach Care Services,” said Bevans. “They are on the Lord’s errand and need help to continue creating better circumstances for people of our community.”
