Maintaining The Creative Spark: Bay Arts Summer Art Camp Returns This June and July

10

This summer, the halls of the Center for the Arts will come alive with color, creativity, and the joyful buzz of Summer Art Camp! Children (ages 7–12) can join us for a week—or more—of exploring a world of imagination through hands-on creations. Each day brings something new: Exciting art projects with plenty of time to create, discover, and make new friends. No two weeks are ever the same—even campers who join all summer long will head home with brand-new masterpieces and memories each time.

“Summer Art Camp is about so much more than just making art—it’s about helping children build confidence, make friendships, and discover that their ideas matter,” said Jayson Kretzer, Executive Director of Bay Arts Alliance. “My first Summer Art Camp was back in 2004, and one of the most rewarding things has been watching some of those students grow up to become artists, creatives, and arts leaders themselves. That’s the beautiful thing about the arts: you never really know which small spark will stay with a child for the rest of their life.”

You can choose between the Full Week Morning Session (9 a.m.-12 p.m.), the Full Week Afternoon Session (1-4 p.m.), or a Single Day session based on your child’s availability. All sessions will feature an art lesson followed by a snack break and movement/ recess time then another art lesson! Students will interact with two instructors learning about different art mediums, color theory, and techniques.
