Pier Park will host its third Back to School Supply Drive July 25 through August 7, 2022 to coincide with Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday. The drive will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bay County.
Residents and visitors can drop off their school supply donations at the Mall Management Office, Forever 21, Dillard’s, Pink Narcissus, Tervis or Dollar Tree. Donations can also be dropped off at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bay County facility located at 16200 Back Beach Road, Panama City Beach, Florida 32413. In addition to helping a good cause, donors will enjoy significant savings when shopping for supplies thanks to Florida’s Tax Cut Package. According to FLGov.com, Floridians will pay no sales tax for certain school supplies valued at $50 or less per item, no sales tax on the first $1,500 of personal computers plus related accessories and no sales tax on clothing, footwear and certain accessories valued at $100 or less per item.
Donors will have the chance to win a $500 prize package during a random drawing at the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce‘s July 14 Business After Hours. The organization will host the event and collect supplies from 5 to 7 p.m. at Panama City Toyota, a Toyota dealership located at 959 15th Street, Panama City, Florida 32401.
