The Audubon Art Exhibit will be on display throughout April and May 2025 in the Bay County Public Library galleries and display case. The bird photographs and paintings are by members and friends of the Bay County Audubon Society. The artist reception is Saturday, May 3 at 2 – 3 p.m. Meet the artists, learn about their creative process, and our local Audubon chapter. The event is free and open to the public with light refreshments.
Featured Bay County Audubon Society Artists:
Bonnie Brant, Susan Butler, Mary Jo Capra, Gail Casteel, Donna Cronwell, Emily Ellis, Carl Fredrickson, Ron Houser, Jocelyn Labranche, Sandi Newson, Danielle S. Ross, Jim Sheetz, Glen Taxton, Jody Wood Putnam.
These birds might be found locally, in some other part of the United States, or even far away exotic places where the birders have traveled. The goal of the exhibit is to enjoy the artwork and inspire you to take a closer look at some of the small and large feathered creatures in your own backyard or as you stroll along Bay County’s beautiful beaches. Exhibit organizer, Donna Cronwell, has also showcased the Purple Martin, the largest of the North American swallow species. Learn about this fascinating bird that you can view in person at active Purple Martin colonies found in the Panama City’s Bay Memorial Park Garden Club or H. D. Mathis Park.
If interested in birds or learning more about them, you are invited to join your local Audubon Chapter. The Bay County Audubon Society’s monthly meetings are held at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church on the second Monday of each month from September to May. You can also participate in their birding field trips. For more information, visit https://baycountyaudubon.org.
