All Scripture is given by inspiration of God
2 Timothy 3:16
The word “inspiration” in the original Greek text, theopneustos, means “God breathed.” That puts the Bible into a class of its own. No other book has ever proposed its author to be of divine nature. The very reason we can take the Bible to be true, authentic, and genuine is the nature of its words. In totality, it IS the Word of God.
THE BIBLE CARRIES “POWER”.
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).
THE BIBLE CARRIES “PURPOSE.” “For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope” (Romans 15:4).
THE BIBLE OFFERS “PERFECTION.” “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who trust in Him” (Proverbs 30:5). “The law of the Lord is PERFECT, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple” (Psalm 19:7).
May we read it with respect and study it with diligence, for it IS God speaking to us.
