Whether you are living in Bay County in 1909 or 2026, March is the time to go fishing! Headboats, charter boats and guide boats are beginning their seasons March 1st and private boat anglers are getting that fishing itch. So, gather up your friends and family for a great adventure on the Gulf of America or inland on beautiful St. Andrews Bay this spring!
The Head boats and Charter boats will be catching Triggerfish, Vermilion and Black or Mangrove Snapper, Red Grouper, Spanish & King Mackerel, and a variety of jacks-always fun to catch! In addition, Cobia will be coming in soon! The Guide boats will be focusing on Red Drum (or Redfish) & Sheepshead, as well as Spotted Sea Trout from the local Bay waters.
For the traditional Shell Island and Dolphin Cruises (since the mid-‘50s), Capt. Anderson III will start its spring schedule March 1, 1 pm daily except Sunday. It is always fun to watch the dolphins play and sometimes they’ll even let you get a glimpse of the new young members of their families. Capt. John and the crew are anxious to share about all the great sea life we have in our area as well as some intriguing historical facts.
Capt. Max’s Upper Deck Bar & Grill overlooking the boats and Grand Lagoon is open every day for lunch and dinner with evening live entertainment. Be sure to check out the plans for St. Patrick’s Day on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CaptMaxsBarGrill/.
